MOSCOW, Nov 16 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin will come to a court hearing of a U.S. $2 million bribery case against former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev after coordination of his schedule, Sechin told reporters on Thursday.
On November 15, Sechin failed to appear in the court for a second time despite numerous summons issued to him.
“At this stage, my main task is to fulfill my functional obligations of the Rosneft company president. So, I will definitely comply with all the conditions as soon as we coordinate the necessary schedules,” Sechin said, adding that he already submitted his position on the case to the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow in writing.
Ulyukayev, the first government official arrested on suspicions of corruption, can face 15 years in prison if his guilt is proved. He pleaded not guilty in August and said it was a setup organized by Sechin and the Federal Security Service.
